The number of iot devices is rapidly increasing and being applied to a wide range of industries. As the number of smart devices increases, so does the user's demand for ease of device configuration and pairing. To this end, Infineon Technologies AG introduces the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT product. This is a high-performance NFC I2C bridging tag product for the implementation of functions such as single point verification and security configuration of iot devices. It is the only label product on the market that uses asymmetric encryption for signature and verification and is NFC Forum Type 4 certified.
The OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to facilitate communication between iot devices and smart devices (such as smartphones) that support contactless card reading, enabling solutions that require seamless and high-speed data transfer of large amounts of data in this scenario. OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT can be used for a variety of applications, such as security configuration of displayless electronic devices, activation of shared vehicles, passive commissioning of smart devices (such as smart light bulbs) prior to installation, and automated sign data logging for portable medical devices (such as health monitors).
OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT uses Infineon's Integrity Guard 32 security architecture with CC EAL6+ certified hardware and library for outstanding security. The label product supports symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic authentication, as well as pass-through and asynchronous data transfer modes.
Based on TEGRION™ hardware, OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT supports transfer rates of 848 Kbit/s in non-connected scenarios, and its I2C interface can support transfer rates of 1 Mbits/s, providing important support for applications requiring high-performance data transfer. The NFC I2C bridge tag provides 8 KB of large memory capacity to efficiently store multiple configuration information for customers and specific applications. In addition, due to the design of high on-chip capacitance, this product can effectively support the realization of small antenna design, and provide assistance for customers in material cost reduction and product space planning requirements.
