Infineon introduces multistage switching amplifier

     Infineon Technologies' MA2304xN MERUS multistage switching amplifier. The system ranks engineers with unmatched power efficiency in low - and high-output bar speakers, wireless and Bluetooth speakers, and battery-powered design for meeting and multi-channel room audio systems. The MA2304DNS is a 2 x 37W audio amplifier that is fully integrated and configurable with DSP with I2S/TDM audio interface.

     It offers MERUS multistage switched amplifier technology that achieves unmatched power efficiency at both low and high output power without a radiator or traditional LC filter. Multistage switching also reduces EMI, promotes low cost inductance free applications, and does not affect audio performance or efficiency. The high order internal feedback loop ensures excellent audio performance with low THD.

     The MA2304PNS provides simpler volume controls and limiter for systems with application/connected processors for audio processing. This makes it ideal for battery powered speaker applications where extended battery life and/or reduced battery costs are essential. Offering ultra-low idle power consumption audio limiter and volume control, up to five times lower than traditional Class D audio amplifiers, the device is also the best choice for in-main-powered multi-channel applications, where reduced and scalable EMI performance enables the design to eliminate the need for a radiator.

     The series is supported by the EVAL_AUDIO_MA2304DNS and the EVAL_AUDIO_MA2304PNS evaluation board. Evaluation boards allow users to demonstrate amplifier characteristics, including audio performance, energy efficiency, and adaptive power management systems.
