Infineon Technologies introduces a new family of integrated Point of Load (IPOL) regulators with Constant on-time (COT) engines, including the IR3887M, IR3888M and IR3889M. The product family is designed for today's servers, base stations and telecommunications that require high efficiency and high density (operating at 85 ° C ambient temperatures), as well as storage applications.

     Infineon Technologies introduces a new family of integrated Point of Load (IPOL) regulators with Constant on-time (COT) engines, including the IR3887M, IR3888M and IR3889M. The product family is designed for today's servers, base stations and telecommunications that require high efficiency and high density (operating at 85 ° C ambient temperatures), as well as storage applications. The IR3887M is the smallest 30 A device on the market. Combined with Infineon's latest generation of FET technology and enhanced package technology, it supports the thermal performance required for 30 A current levels in a compact form factor of 4 mm x 5 mm.

 

     The OptiMOS IPOL product family is equipped with a stability-enhanced COT engine that supports an all-ceramic capacitor design and requires no external compensation. The product family supports a wide input voltage range of 4.3V-17V (with a minimum input of 2V when an external 5V supply is available), enabling precise output voltages (0.5% high-precision reference voltage). These regulators offer high efficiency under light load conditions and provide internal overcurrent protection (with temperature compensation) through four optional limits, enabling the use of cheaper, smaller inductors.

 

     The IR3888M and IR3889M come in a 5mm x 6mm PQFN package. The IR3888M supports continuous current up to 25A and is RoHS2 compliant. They ensure that high switching frequencies (up to 2 MHz) are achieved with a smaller board size and fewer parts, so design and layout are further simplified. These products have benchmark efficiency, low power loss, and thermal performance sufficient to support continuous currents up to 30 A. Customers also benefit from benchmarking output voltage regulation capabilities and enhanced load transient response.
