Infineon introduces the PSoC™ 4100S Max, which supports the fifth generation of CAPSENSE™ technology

     Infineon Technologies has announced the launch of the new PSoC™ 4100S Max series. With an expanded flash memory device and universal input/output interface (GPIO), the product supports fifth generation CAPSENSE™ capacitive and inductive touch sensing technology to meet the needs of a new generation of human-computer interaction (HMI) applications. Available in 7x7 mm², 10x10 mm² and 14x14 mm² package sizes using CAPSENSE™ technology, the PSoC 4100S Max is ideal for industrial control, automotive human-computer interaction (HMI), smart home automation and large household appliances. Such as robots, inductive sensors, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, intelligent temperature controllers, printers and so on.

     The Infineon PSoC 4100S Max's PSoC 4 flash memory device has a storage capacity of up to 384K, which is the largest flash memory capacity in the PSoC 4 family. With up to 84 GPIO interfaces, the product supports the CAN-FD protocol, high-speed long distance wired communication, and I²S master interface for fully embedded audio solutions. It also features two fifth-generation CAPSENSE modules that provide differentiated human-computer interaction and touch-sensitive solutions. The new Infineon PSoC devices also incorporate a cryptoaccelerator that improves encryption speed and efficiency, providing a more secure way to interact with future touch-based user interface applications.

In addition, the line is touch sensitive even in some harsh environments and has an industry-leading signal-to-noise ratio."

     The new devices are compatible with Infineon's latest ModusToolbox™ 3.0 development platform, enabling developers to create unique development experiences for a variety of application scenarios, including consumer Internet of Things, automotive human-computer interaction (HMI), industrial, smart home, wearables and more. In addition to PSoC 4, the Infineon ModusToolbox 3.0 development platform is compatible with embedded applications using Infineon products such as PSoC 6, XMC™, AIROC™ Wi-Fi, AIROC Bluetooth® and EZ-PD™ PMG1 microcontrollers.
