Infineon introduces the new 600 V CoolMOS PFD7 series

     Building on the innovation of Ultra technologies and more than 20 years of experience, Infineon Technologies AG has further expanded its CoolMOSTM portfolio with the new PFD7 series, which offers not only top-notch performance, but also the highest level of ease of use. These devices are suitable for ultra-high power density designs, such as chargers and adapters, as well as low power drives and specific lighting applications.

     Increased robustness and reliability, coupled with improved efficiency, reduced switching losses, and improved thermal performance, make this product family the ultimate choice for contemporary engineering design. The CoolMOSTM PFD7 series is in line with the trend of miniaturization and lightweight for mobile products and energy efficiency for large appliances, helping to push the limits of ultra-high power density design on a cost-effective basis. This series of devices is particularly efficient under light load conditions, while still meeting the requirements of electromagnetic interference resistance.

     These switches have an excellent factor of quality. It also has excellent commutation stability through an integrated fast recovery diode. The gate integrated Zener diode supports electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection up to 2 kV. Infineon offers a wide range of RDS(on) values between 125 mΩ and 2000 mΩ.
