Infineon introduces the new AIROC CYW20829 low power Bluetooth on-chip system

     Infineon Technologies Inc. will launch the AIROC CYW20829 low power Bluetooth on-chip system. The solution supports the latest Bluetooth 5.3 core specification for iot, smart home, and industrial applications. AIROC CYW20829 combines low power and excellent performance to support all low power Bluetooth application scenarios, including smart homes, sensors, lighting, Bluetooth Mesh, remote controls, and other iot applications connected via low power Bluetooth.

     The AIROC CYW20829 integrates a power amplifier with a power output of 10 dBm with a receive sensitivity of -98.5 dBm for LE and -106 dBm for LE-LR at 125 Kbps rate, providing a better link budget in the AIROC Bluetooth portfolio. The CYW20829 is ideal for many applications such as smart homes, smart buildings, medical, industrial, Mesh networks, and human-computer interaction devices (such as keyboards, mice, remote controls) due to its first-class RF performance that provides stable and reliable connectivity with extremely low power consumption.

     CYW20829 is the first Infineon AIROC Bluetooth on-chip system with ARMCortexM33 core. This low-power Bluetooth on-chip system integrates a highly optimized radio with a Bluetooth microcontroller based on the ARM Cortex M33 kernel to achieve a low-current loss design. The second ARM Cortex M33 kernel features a floating-point computing unit (FPU) that is tailored specifically to your client's application scenarios and delivers superior computing performance with low power consumption at up to 96 MHz.

     The AIROC CYW20829 is highly integrated with configurable serial communication modules, multiple timers/counters and pulsewidth modulators, and I2S, PDM, CAN, and LIN interfaces. Among them, the serial communication module can be configured as UART/I2C/SPI as required. The platform architecture has built-in ROM-based trust root, TRNG, and hardware acceleration technology based on EFuse-based specific keys and cryptographic operations for higher security. AIROC CYW20829 also supports code execution directly from external flash memory and dynamically encrypts the contents on the flash memory, so it is also more flexible.

     AIROC CYW20829 is fully software supported by ModusToolbox.
