Infineon introduces the new separable 650V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 for energy efficient power applications

Infineon Technologies further expands its TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 product lineup with the launch of the separable 650V IGBT7 H7. The new device is equipped with a new generation of emitter-controlled EC7 continuation diodes to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly and efficient power solutions. TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 The TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 uses the latest micro-grooved gate technology for excellent control and performance, which significantly reduces losses and increases efficiency and power density. As a result, the semiconductor device is suitable for a variety of applications such as serial inverters, energy storage systems (ESS), electric vehicle charging applications, and traditional applications such as industrial UPS and welding.

In a separate package, the 650 V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 can output up to 150A of current. The product family ranges from 40A TO 150A and is available in four different package types: TO-247-3 HCC, TO-247-4, TO-247-3 Plus and TO-247-4 Plus. The TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT7 H7's TO-247-3 HCC package has a high creepage distance. The TO-247's 4-pin package (standard package: IKZA, Plus package: IKY) stands out in terms of improved performance because it not only reduces switching losses, but also provides additional benefits such as lower voltage overkill, minimal on-off losses, and minimal reverse recovery losses. With these features, the TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT7 H7 simplifies the design and minimizes the need for parallel devices.

In addition, the 650 V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 H7 has excellent moisture resistance for reliable operation in harsh environments. The device has passed the relevant tests of JEDEC 47/20/22, in particular HV-H3TRB, and meets the standards for industrial applications, making it ideal for outdoor applications. Igbts are designed to meet the needs of environmentally friendly and energy efficient applications and represent a significant improvement over previous generations. TRENCHSTOP™ IGBT7 H7 is therefore an ideal complement to NPC1 topologies that are commonly used in solar and energy storage systems, among others.
