Infineon introduces ultra-low-power microcontrollers with a 10-fold increase in signal-to-noise ratio and support for multiple sensing applications

     Infineon Technologies AG has announced the launch of the PSoC 4000T family of microcontrollers (MCUS). This new family of MCUS delivers best-in-class low-power capacitive sensing solutions with superior signal-to-noise ratio, water resistance and multiple sensing capabilities, as well as the highest reliability and robustness.

     The PSoC 4000T MCU expands the PSoC 4 MCU product lineup based on Arm® Cortex-M0 + and features Infineon's fifth-generation high-performance CAPSENSE capacitive sensing technology. Compared to previous generations of products and similar solutions, the new generation of technology provides 10 times better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance, while reducing power consumption to 1/10.

     The PSoC 4000T touch sensing function enables human machine interface (HMI) operation at low power and standby power consumption to optimize alway touch sensing designs and extend battery life of battery-powered products. Designers can now take advantage of the wide range of sensing support offered by the PSoC 4000T, such as proximity, humidity, temperature, and ambient light sensing. The fifth generation of CAPSENSE technology provides better design for interactive user interfaces such as proximity sensing and gestures, capacitive sliders, capacitive trackpads, small touch screens, wear detection and level detection.
