Infineon launched a millimeter wave radar sensor for vehicle XENSIV

Now, the XENSIV vehicle millimeter wave radar sensor (BGT60ATR24C) launched by Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. is applied to the intelligent cabin monitoring system (ICMS), which can detect the slight movements and vital signs of infants and animals left in the vehicle, and give an alarm. In addition, this compact, economical and practical chipset can also be used in many applications such as gesture sensing of front-end radar, high resolution frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar ranging, short-range sensing operation, and covert sensing in the radome.

     The XENSIV BGT60ATR24C vehicle millimeter wave radar sensor adopts small package, which can realize ultra wideband FMCW operation with frequency up to 4 GHz. The sensor configuration and data acquisition are completed through the digital interface. Such integrated chips can support independent data acquisition, and the optimized power management mode can ensure low power consumption. This solution optimizes the size and space, with two transmit channels (TX) and four receive channels (RX) built in for excellent thermal management.

     Not only that, this radar sensor can also support other functions such as safety belt reminder. Thanks to this, this economical and practical solution further improves the travel safety of passengers. The sensor complies with AEC-Q100/101 standard and can be used in many automotive applications.
