Infineon launched a single chip solution integrating half bridge drive IC for applications such as NFC passive lock

Infineon Technologies has developed a 32-bit programmable microcontroller (MCU) based on the ARM Cortex-M0 kernel, which has a built-in NFC wireless communication module, enabling customers to economically and efficiently develop intelligent execution terminals such as passive locks.

     In 2020, the global smart lock market will be 1.38 billion US dollars, and the market demand will reach 8.9 million sets. It is estimated that from 2021 to 2028, the market demand for smart locks will grow rapidly at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.4%. By integrating the half bridge drive IC and energy acquisition module, you can use a single chip solution to build an intelligent execution terminal, and the number of components required is small. Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. has developed a 32-bit programmable microcontroller (MCU) based on ARM Cortex-M0 core, with built-in NFC wireless communication module, which can help customers economically and efficiently develop intelligent execution terminals, such as passive locks.

 

     The NAC1080 MCU comes with an NFC interface that allows you to directly control the device through your smartphone. Advanced on-premises and cloud capabilities can be extended in mobile applications provided by regional marketing partners. This helps customers reduce BOM costs and supports the miniaturization of product design. The NAC1080 supports different modes of operation, which can be powered by mobile phone through NFC function in passive mode, or by battery in active mode. The NAC1080 also integrates an AES128 accelerator and a true random number generator to encrypt and decrypt data while achieving ultra-low power consumption.

 

     In addition to being used for NFC passive lock, NAC1080 can also be used as emergency standby power supply. For example, when the battery powered active lock system suddenly loses power, the NFC interface IC of electronic equipment can be used to charge the door lock.
