Infineon launches second generation of highly reliable non-volatile SRAM

     Infineon Technologies LLC, a subsidiary of Infineon Technologies AG, announced the second generation of non-volatile static RAM (nvSRAM). The next-generation devices are qualified to QML-Q and high-reliability industrial specifications to support non-volatile code storage and data logging applications in harsh environments, including aerospace and industrial applications.

     The 256 Kb STK14C88C and 1 Mb STK14CA8C nvSRAMs are housed in a 32-pin 300 mil dual in-line ceramic package, compliant with MIL-PRF-38535 QML-Q specification (-55°C to 125°C) and Infineon's industry standard (- 40°C to 85°C). Both 5 V and 3 V versions support boot codes, data logging and calibration data storage for aerospace, communication and navigation systems as well as industrial blast furnace and railway control systems. Infineon also offers wafer sales to support packaging systems.

     Infineon's nvSRAM technology combines high-performance SRAM with best-in-class SONOS non-volatile technology. Under normal operating conditions, nvSRAMs behave like traditional asynchronous SRAMs. When power is removed, nvSRAM automatically saves a copy of the SRAM data to non-volatile memory, which is protected for more than 20 years. Infineon has shipped more than 2 billion SONOS-based non-volatile embedded or stand-alone memories.
