Infineon leads the industry in trusted computing: the new Optiga TPM security controller with SPI bus

     Infineon Technologies AG today announced that its new Optiga TPM(Trusted Platform Module) with SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) bus has received the Common Criteria Certification EAL4+ certification. Germany's Federal Agency for Information Security (BSI) presented Infineon with the certificate at the RSA conference. This certification enables system manufacturers and users to select trusted solutions based on internationally recognized independent test results.

     The Optiga TPM family provides hardware security for system applications in industrial, embedded, mobile or tablet computers, and traditional computing environments. The newly certified OPTIGA™ TPM 1.2 with SPI bus is the first product in a new generation of TPMS designed to meet future market demands. The chip is based on an Infineon security encryption controller and a Transjet mask embedded memory. With its wide range of market applications, the SPI bus is suitable for personal computers.

     However, it supports the use of TPM for a wider range of applications, such as industrial computing and increasingly connected embedded systems, such as iot gateways, routers, or surveillance probes. In particular, these applications can benefit from optimized high-performance interfaces.

     The TPM specification, developed by the Trusted Computing Organization (TCG), is an open standard designed to provide a secure computing environment for a wide range of applications. As a market leader in TPM, Infineon pioneered the development of TPM2.0 and further strengthened its lead with certified products with an SPI bus.
