Infineon offers a family of power modules that can be used in PV series inverters

     Infineon Technologies has added the EasyPACK 4B to its industry-leading Easy power module line. The new series of guide lines are mainly used in photovoltaic series inverters. The application can achieve a power output of up to 352kW, a substantial increase of approximately 40% compared to the previous generation 250kW PV inverter using EasyPACK 3B.

     The module is designed to achieve a simpler but more powerful inverter design with higher power density and lower system cost. The device is suitable for 1500VDC solar string inverters. With the introduction of the F3L600R10W4S7F_C22 primer, it is now the largest package of the three DCB substrate families. Nevertheless, it still offers a baseboard free design, 12mm height, PressFit pins and flexible pins, among others. Like other Easy packages, it provides flexibility in platform-based solutions.

     The package extends the EasyPACK 3B hold concept to provide low thermal resistance (R th) and improved robustness and quality. Like the existing Easy family members, the new family optimizes stray inductance and reduces the design effort. The pilot power module F3L600R10W4S7F_C22 provides an advanced three-level NPC (ANPC) topology that integrates the latest generation of 1200V CoolSiC Schottky diodes and the latest 950V TRENCHSTOP IGBT7 chip technology up to 600A. ANPC is the most popular topology of solar string inverters, with the advantages of high efficiency and low power consumption. This mixture of topology and chip optimizes the utility of power semiconductors.
