Infineon's NFC-PWM family solves the challenge of LED current Settings and increases the market value of LED drivers

     Infineon's NLM0010 and NLM0011 are two NFC dual-mode configuration chips with pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs designed primarily for LED applications to enable NFC programming. NLM0011 is an NFC configuration chip with integrated constant lumen output (CLO) function. Both chips come with advanced features such as operation time counting and on/off counting. For the customer, no additional effort is required to implement this, neither firmware development nor microcontroller integration. The NFC-PWM series makes adapting to existing designs easy.

     NLM0011 works in two modes: Configuration mode (passive) and lighting mode (active). In configuration mode, when the LED driver is not powered on (no V(CC) is applied to the NFC IC), the NFC chip is powered by the RF field sent by the NFC reader. Parameters stored in nonvolatile storage (NVM) can be configured wirelessly through the NFC interface. In lighting mode, as long as the LED driver is under the power supply (V(CC) applied to the NFC IC), the PWM output is generated according to the stored PWM parameters. During active mode, the NFC interface is disabled.
