Infineon's high-precision 3D magnetic sensors help reduce power consumption in consumer and industrial applications

     Infineon Technologies AG has announced the launch of its 3D magnetic sensor TLV493D-A1B6, which enables highly accurate 3D sensing with very low power consumption in a compact 6-pin TSOP package. By detecting magnetic fields in the x, y, and z directions, the sensor reliably senses three-dimensional, linear, and rotational motion. The digital I²C interface can realize fast bidirectional communication between sensor and MCU.

     The TLV493D-A1B6 is suitable for consumer and industrial applications where accurate 3D or Angle measurements are required, or where low power consumption is required, such as joysticks; Control elements for white goods and multi-function knobs; Ideal for meter applications tamper-proof with 3D magnetic sensor. With non-contact position sensing and high temperature stability of magnetic thresholds, the TLV493D-A1B6 makes these systems smaller, more accurate and more stable.

     Ralf Bornefeld, Global Vice President and General Manager of the Sensing and Control Business Unit at Infineon, said: "Our TLV493D-A1B6 can be used in areas that have never been considered before, making them smaller, more accurate and more stable. The TLV493D-A1B6 marks the beginning of a new family of three-dimensional magnetic sensors. Later this year, we will introduce 3D sensors for automotive applications such as gearshift and steering column control."
