Integrated peak current mode PWM controller, using mWSaver technology

     The onsemi NCP1118x mWSaver integrates a peak current mode PWM controller to implement mWSaver technology and a highly robust 800V SJ MOSFET. This integrated design provides a significantly improved performance flyback on the NCP1118x. mWSaver technology reduces the switching frequency and operating current of the controller under light load conditions, thereby avoiding noise problems and even meeting international energy efficiency standards such as Energy Star.

     In addition, the onsemi NCP1118x includes a high-voltage starting circuit, frequency-hopping functionality, ramp compensation, constant output power limits, high reliability and multiple protections, which allow for simple design, fewer BOM quantities, smaller PCB sizes, and cost-effective off-line power supplies. The protection has stable feedback pin open loop, current detection resistance is short, dimming, line overvoltage using line voltage detection pin, and has automatic recovery function.
