Intel also emphasizes AI! Meteor Lake series processors will be imported into the VPU design

     While Computex2023 emphasized the theme of artificial intelligence (AI), the new products launched by various manufacturers also focused on AI. intel (INTC), the processor giant, isn't showing its wares in 2023. However, at the same time, it also announced that its code Meteor Lake series of processors will be imported into AI applications, and there will be a new design of the VPU core, which attracted the attention of the market.

     According to Intel, Meteor Lake, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2023, has a VPU core design for AI computing. Through the  independent operation of the AI application VPUs, in addition to improving the operational efficiency of the AI, can also reduce the work load of the CPU, and further reduce the CPU power consumption.

     In fact, the Meteor Lake series of processors imported into the VPU core design, also using a Chiplet structure, is expected to be available to customers from the Intel 4 process stage thanks to Intel's use of Forveros 3D packaging technology. Based on what we know so far, Meteor Lake Series processors feature a new generation of power management in addition to the import of the VPU core design, plus a new core graphics card.

     In the new core graphics section, Intel notes that the Arc AlchemistXe-LPG GPU module, which Meteor Lake series processors will use, is expected to deliver the same performance and functionality as Arc standalone graphics, including DX12 Ultimate, Ray Tracing and XeSS. With the addition of these image functions, Meteor Lake series processors with the addition of VPU core design will be more flexible and diversified for image applications.

     From the perspective of the average user, the application of network video calling will be the best experience to highlight the VPU core design imported from Meteor Lake series processors. In Intel's demo, users were able to use Windows Studio effects background effects and track users' faces and eyes while using the camera program built into Windows11, after a relative improvement in Microsoft's AI-accelerated applications. In addition, the new generation power management will be able to understand the utilization status of resources including processors and display units through the new NPU project.

     Overall, after the import of the VPU core design from Meteor Lake series, the import of the VPU from the GPU side has the ideal selection function of media, 3D, rendering channels.
