Intel has announced the Core Ultra 200S, the first AI PC desktop processor

     Intel has officially released the Intel Core Ultra 200S family of processors, extending AI PC capabilities to desktop platforms and bringing the first desktop-level AI PC for enthusiasts. The processor family includes five unlocked desktop processors, including the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, with up to eight new fast performance cores and up to 16 new power efficiency cores that improve multithreaded workloads by up to 14% compared to the previous generation. The new processor family's built-in Xe GPU with advanced media capabilities brings enthusiasts Intel's first NPU-equipped desktop processor 3.

     Thanks to the latest Intel Core and energy efficiency innovations, the Intel Core Ultra 200S desktop processor has achieved landmark power reductions of up to 58% overall for every day applicates4 and up to 165W5 for gaming systems. The new processor family combines improved power efficiency and performance with 6% higher single-threaded speeds and 14% faster multithreaded speeds compared to the previous generation.

     Together, the processor's CPU, GPU, and NPU power the overall AI, enabling enthusiasts to get the intelligence and powerful performance they need for content creation and gaming while reducing power consumption. Intel's Core Ultra 200S series processors bring the AI PC experience to enthusiasts for the first time. The newly introduced NPU is capable of offloading AI capabilities, such as freeing up separate Gpus to improve game frame rates, significantly reducing power consumption in AI workloads, and minimizing performance impact while enabling accessibility use cases such as facial expression and gesture tracking in games.
