Intel launches solid-state drives for everyday computing and mainstream gaming

     Intel introduces the Intel SSD 670p, a client SSD based on 144-layer QLC (four-layer cell) technology. Rob Crooke, senior vice president and general manager of Intel's NAND Products and Solutions group, said: "The Intel SSD 670p is based on Intel's 144-layer QLC 3D NAND technology and has a capacity of 128GB per strip. Compared to the previous generation of SSDS, the Intel SSD 670p has 2x higher read performance, 38% higher random read performance, and up to 50% lower latency. "By delivering peak performance, up to 2TB of capacity and enhanced reliability, the Intel SSD 670p is the ideal storage solution for lightweight laptops."

 

     The Intel SSD 670p features the latest QLC technology and can hold up to 2TB in a single drive, providing significant value for everyday computing and mainstream gaming. Compared to the previous generation of Intel QLC 3D NAND SSDS, the 670p offers improved performance, including 2x sequential read and a 20% durability increase. Tuned for both low queue depth and mixed workloads, Intel's latest client drives deliver the right balance of performance, cost and power consumption for today's most common computing needs.

 

     Over the past decade, Intel has focused on developing QLC technology to meet the dual performance and capacity demands of today's PC storage, including top-of-the-line storage and the ability to efficiently manage massive amounts of data. Intel's QLC SSDS are built on floating grid technology, where data retention is a key competitive advantage. The new unit configuration of the Intel SSD 670p also optimizes mass storage for everyday computing needs at an affordable price and helps accelerate the adoption of SSDS.
