KEMET Electronics Launches the Next Generation Super Capacitor for Cars

     KEMET, the world's leading electronic component supplier under Yageo, announced the launch of its new high-performance supercapacitor FMD and FU0H series for automotive electronics. These two series can provide 1000 hours of service life in the rated voltage range of 85 ℃/85% RH and operating temperature of - 40 ℃ to 85 ℃. The service life of FMD series is longer, up to 4000 hours. These supercapacitors meet the automotive test protocol. These capacitors are manufactured in ISO TS 16949 certified plants and are subject to PPAP/PSW and change control.

     They are very suitable for vehicle applications that require backup of the main power system during power failure, such as ADAS, autonomous vehicles and central gateway ECU. The super capacitor is very suitable for maintaining the real time clock or volatile memory of the main power system when it is removed, such as during power failure or when it is replaced when the battery of the main power system is removed. In addition, these supercapacitors can also provide backup power for IoT devices, intelligent instruments, medical devices, industrial computing and other devices.
