L-com Nortone introduces a new range of bulk cables, field terminating plugs and cable assemblies

     L-com Nortone, a brand of Infinite Electronics and a leading manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, has introduced a new line of bulk cables, field terminating plugs and cable assemblies designed to address industrial Ethernet networking applications.

     L-com Nortone's new outdoor/industrial Ethernet bulk cable is targeted for extreme applications that require robust cable shielding. It is oil and chemical resistant and has a UV-resistant sheath designed for PLTC industrial Ethernet applications to meet the electrical specifications of super Class 5 differential signal twisted pair cables. This bulk cable is equipped with single solid or multiple stranded 22AWG wire for industrial Ethernet bus Type-A, B or C applications. The stranded bulk cable has a high flexibility rating and has been tested for 1 million and 10 million flexibility cycles. The new bulk cable is a Category 5 channel test class, PoE 802.3 compliant, up to 100 meters.

     The new shielding sheath, field terminating, Super Class 5 Industrial Ethernet plug is specifically designed for Ethernet cables with thicker wire specifications and is available in straight or right Angle type. During termination, the right Angle can be set to any 90 degree or 45 degree increment. The IDC (insulated puncture) termination of these plugs is easy to operate. The optional HT-TSPFT hand tool is recommended, but terminating these plugs is not required.

     L-com Nortone Industrial Ethernet cable assemblies are assembled with the new TFDP501 and TFDP503 series bulk cables to provide customers with a choice of solid and multi-strand conductors. They are terminated using the new TSPFTPFNS series field terminated RJ45 plug and M12D coded male and female connectors. Stock lengths range from 0.5 m to 10 m, and custom length versions can be ordered with no minimum order size.
