Littelfuse Corporation is an industrial technology manufacturing company dedicated to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world. The company announced the expansion of its ITV2718 line of surface-mounted lithium battery protectors. These fuses protect the lithium battery pack from overcurrent and overcharge (overvoltage) conditions during fast charging.
The latest ITV2718 measures 2.7 x 1.8mm and offers a 5-amp, three-terminal fuse. This innovative design uses a combination of embedded fuses and heater elements to react quickly, interrupting the battery pack's charging or discharging circuit before an overcharge or overheating situation occurs.
"By further expanding our family of ITV lithium battery pack protective fuses to include these new devices rated at 5 amps, Littelfuse offers electronics engineers even more options for the next generation of consumer electronics designs." Stephen Li, global Product Manager at Littelfuse, said, "Continuing to expand our surface-mounted, three-terminal battery pack protectors portfolio allows us to deliver even more powerful and innovative battery protection solutions to these product development teams."
