Littelfuse introduces the new LTKAK2-L series of high-power transient suppression diodes for surface-mount packages

Littelfuse is an industrial technology manufacturing company dedicated to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world. The company announced the launch of its latest LTKAK2-L series of high-power transient suppression diodes. This surface-mounted solution addresses the market demand for high-surge rated transient suppression diodes compatible with automated PCB assembly processes.

By replacing four or eight 15KPA or 30KPA axial lead transient suppression diodes with one LTKAK2-L, electronic device designers can save 60% and 80% PCB space, respectively. Watch the video.

The LTKAK2-L series of transient suppression diodes offers a compact surface mount package that is compatible with automated PCB assembly processes. The smaller solution in the improved SMTO-218 package allows designers to achieve robust circuit protection with a smaller PCB space than existing axial lead solutions. The 2kA surge current rating enables the design to comply with IEC-61000-4-5 Level 4 requirements, thereby protecting a wide range of highly reliable AC and DC power supplies and their applications.
