
MACOM expands its portfolio of silicon-based Gallium nitride (GaN-on-Si) power amplifiers (PA) with the introduction of the new MAMG-100227-010 broadband power amplifier (PA) module. The broadband PA module is optimized for land Mobile Radio systems (LMR), wireless public safety communications, and military tactical communications and electronic countermeasures (ECM). The MAMG-100227-010 PA module, with its efficient design of a 50-ω fully matched, two-stage PA architecture and top and bottom mount configurability, provides radio equipment with unprecedented design flexibility to achieve a balance between strict size, weight and power (SWaP) specifications.
The new MAMG-100227-010 PA module leverages MACOM's high-performance silicon-based gallium nitride to achieve 225-2600 MHz extreme broadband, 10W continuous wave output power, up to 40% typical power added efficiency (PAE), and 22dB typical power gain. And up to 36V operating voltage (typical 28V). With a compact 14x18 mm air pocket laminate package with an integrated gold-plated copper radiator, PA architecture mismatches can be avoided, thus eliminating the need for additional component and PCB space. In addition, top and bottom mounting configurability contributes to PA module installation flexibility and thermal agility.
