ADI's MAX98365 is a digital input Class D amplifier that delivers outstanding Class AB audio performance and Class D efficiency. The digital audio interface automatically recognizes different pulse code modulation (PCM) and Time Division multiplexing (TDM) clock schemes without I2C programming; All you need to do is supply power, LRCLK, BCLK, and digital audio to produce sound.

     ADI's MAX98365 is a digital input class D amplifier, providing excellent class AB audio performance and class D efficiency. The digital audio interface will automatically recognize different clock schemes of Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) without I2C programming; Just provide power, LRCLK, BCLK and digital audio to generate sound. In addition, novel pin assignments allow users to use cost-effective wafer level packaging (WLP) without the need for expensive in pad vias. The wide power supply range of 3 V to 14 V allows the device to provide 13.8 W of power to an 8 Ω load.


     The digital audio interface is highly flexible. The device supports I2S, left aligned, and 8-channel TDM data formats. The digital audio interface accepts 8 kHz, 16 kHz, 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz and 192 kHz sampling rates. Data words can be 16 bit, 24 bit, or 32-bit I2S and left aligned modes, and 16 bit or 32 bit in TDM mode.


     The digital audio interface input threshold is ideal for accessing 1.2 V and 1.8 V logic. These devices can withstand logic input voltages up to 5.5 V. The MAX98365 Evaluation System (EV System) is a fully assembled and tested system for evaluating the MAX98365A/B/C/D mono class D audio amplifier. EV system is composed of MAX98365 development board (DEV board), Maxim audio interface board III (AUDINT3) and USB cable.
