Marvell introduces the 88PA810 Trusted Verification IC, its latest solution for trusted product verification and consumable management

     Marvell announced the 88PA810 Trusted Verification IC, its latest solution for trusted product verification and consumable management. Designed for systems requiring secure product verification and usage tracking, the 88PA810 provides a proven, trusted anti-counterfeiting solution. The 88PA810 integrates state-of-the-art technology to ensure the quality, longevity and safety of our customers' products while protecting their brand, reputation and revenue.

     Inferior products such as poorly designed ink and ink cartridges or dangerous batteries have caused many problems for manufacturers and consumers, and the 88PA810 will also provide protection for cloud-connected smart iot devices that are vulnerable to external attacks. Marvell and Cryptography Research (now Rambus Cryptography Research Division) have been working together for more than five years to develop the Marvell 2nd Generation IC, In addition to cutting-edge anti-tamper and anti-reverse engineering technology, the IC integrates the CryptoFirewall™ security solution.

In addition, products must maintain a high level of safety, including allowing components to be upgraded, allowing the use of accessories or replaceable consumables sold in the compatible parts market. "The 88PA810 Trusted Verification IC extends Marvell's leadership in security verification, providing customers with a cutting-edge, proven solution to secure their products and protect their customers."

     Marvell's 88PA810 security verification chip provides advanced tamper-proof alerts, overlays active metal mesh for extensive circuit obfuscation, internal clocks and regulators, and other security features to prevent attackers from tampering with or using physical attack methods to disintegrate or copy the chip or related consumer products. The IC provides protection against a myriad of security threats and encrypts communication data flowing off-chip. The 88PA810 provides secure product verification services with a unique hardware ID, non-relocatable safe-use metering countdown counter, and 3KB disposable programmable (OTP) memory for device manufacturers to record product information and manufacturing metadata. The 88PA810 uses a traditional internal integrated circuit (I2C) interface that connects to a master controller to run validation and product management services. The 88PA810 also protects the entire power supply chain with a multi-stage configuration solution to eliminate potential risks posed by bad actors.

     The 88PA810 will be available directly to device manufacturers through distribution channels and will provide secure programming services. In addition, after the 88PA810 deployment is complete, Marvell will further provide various security mechanisms for the chip to prevent and respond to new attacks and security risks.
