Maxim Integrated addressable dual audio taper potentiometer

     The DS1807 addressable dual audio taper potentiometer is a dual audio taper potentiometer with logarithmic resistance characteristics. Each potentiometer has 65 wiper positions, including the silent position. The spacing between adjacent wiper positions is 1db, and the total attenuation range is 64 dB. When the wiper is in silent position, attenuation exceeds 90 dB.

     The DS1807 also provides zero crossing detection. This capability eliminates noise caused by discrete wiper position changes. The DS1807 is controlled through a dual input serial synchronization interface that provides the addressing capabilities of up to eight different DS1807. Addressability is obtained through the communication protocol and three (3) address selection inputs A0, A1, and A2. The communication protocol allows accurate positioning of the DS1807 wiper.

     In addition, the communication protocol allows the wiper to be set up independently or simultaneously with two potentiometers. The wiper position can also be read through a 2-wire serial interface.the DS1807 is available in 14-pin DIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages. DS1807 offers industrial temperature grades. The standard resistance of the DS1807 is 45kw.
