Maxim Integrated releases 3-phase MOSFET gate driver from Trinamic sub brand

     RINAMIC Motion Control GmbH&Co. KG (a subsidiary of Maxim Integrated Products, Inc) announced the launch of a fully integrated TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET grid driver, which effectively simplifies the design of brushless DC motor drive and maximizes battery life. TMC6140-LA 3-phase MOSFET gate driver integrates low edge current detection amplifier for each phase to form a complete motor drive scheme; Compared with similar products, the number of components is halved, and the power efficiency is increased by 30%, greatly simplifying the design.

     TMC6140-LA is optimized for a wide voltage range, making it very suitable for servo motor, brushless motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor applications. The three-phase grid driver is equipped with corresponding pins for the convenience of adding charge pump, which can statically stabilize the grid voltage of the external MOSFET of the three-phase motor, and the coil current is up to 100A. The grid driver uses a 36 pin square flat leadless (QFN) package to provide a flexible solution for 5V to 30V DC and 0.5A or 1.0A battery powered applications, such as power tools that may have a voltage lower than 10V. The integrated current detection and diagnosis function can improve the functional safety and simplify the design.
