Maxim introduced the MAX32625 and MAX32626 ultra-low power, high performance ARM Cortex-M4F wearable microcontrollers

     Maxim Integrated's MAX32625IWY+ and MAX32626IWY+ are ARM Cortex-M4, FPU-based microcontrollers ideal for emerging wearable medical and fitness applications. The architecture combines ultra-low power consumption, efficient signal processing capabilities, and ease of use. A built-in 96MHz oscillator provides high performance capabilities and a built-in 4MHz oscillator supports the lowest power consumption for applications that need to be monitored online at all times. The device offers 512 kB of flash memory and 160 kB of SRAM.

     The device has four powerful and flexible power modes. Peripheral management units (PMUs) support up to six channels of intelligent peripheral control, significantly reducing power consumption. Power gating with built-in dynamic clock gating and firmware control allows users to optimize power for specific applications.

     The microcontroller has multiple SPI, UART, and I(2)C serial interfaces, as well as a 1-wire main interface and USB, allowing connection to a variety of external sensors. The MAX32625IWY+ and MAX32626IWY+ include a four-input, 10-bit Delta-Sigma ADC to monitor analog inputs from external sensors.
