
Maxim Integrated announced the launch of the MAX17852 14-channel, high-voltage, ASIL-D-compliant data acquisition system to help automotive power management system (BMS) developers provide the highest level of security for voltage, current, and temperature measurement and data communication, while significantly saving space and solution costs. Designed for system integration in electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and other transport vehicles, this IC is ideal for smart junction boxes, 48V and other automotive battery systems, capable of withstanding 400V and higher.
Oems and electric vehicle manufacturers require battery systems to meet the highest safety levels set by the ISO26262 standard. With comprehensive diagnostic capabilities and a secure drive architecture, Maxim Integrated designed and produced the MAX17852 to help customers meet the highest security system requirements of the ASIL-D standard for voltage, current, temperature measurement, and data communication. Small size, high performance IC design provides the highest measurement accuracy, using strict time synchronization technology to provide voltage, current and temperature data.
The device can measure the battery voltage change of ±0.45mV (typical value) at room temperature; In the temperature range of 5°C to 40°C, the maximum measurement error is ±2mV, helping automakers get the maximum range their batteries can support. The device has a +/-300mV current detection amplifier, the maximum gain setting is 256 times, the current detection gain error is 0.3%; These features ensure that the MAX17852 provides the fastest, most accurate data acquisition for calculating power management, battery health, and charge status. The 14-channel battery data acquisition system is integrated with a current detection amplifier, enabling simultaneous acquisition of current, voltage and temperature data. The MAX17852 can use a Hall sensor or galvanometer resistor as a detection element.
