Maxim introduces the industry's smallest and most efficient step-down synchronous rectifier DC-DC inverter

     Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM) announced the launch of the MAX17577 and MAX17578, the industry's smallest and most efficient step-down synchronous rectifier DC-DC inverter. As Maxim's first 60V DC-DC inverter with an integrated level converter, these devices reduce the number of external components by half, reduce energy consumption by 35%, and save up to 72% of board space compared to the closest competing solutions. The two ics effectively reduce solution size, heat and cost, while simplifying the design of the negative pressure output power required for analog signals in smart IoT devices, and can be widely used in factory automation, building automation and communication systems.

     As network frontier devices continue to expand with the development of artificial intelligence, designers must reduce the size of the solution and reduce the heat of the system. They need solutions that are more efficient, generate less heat, take up less board space, and help save development time and costs. The MAX17577 and MAX17578 have integrated level switching circuits that reduce component cost and quantity by up to 50% while compressing component area to 60 mm2, which is 72% less than competing solutions.
