Maxim offers a gas flowmeter SoC(System on Chip) designed as a simulation front-end solution for the medical ventilator and ultrasonic gas flowmeter markets

     Maxim Integrated's MAX35104ETL+ is a system-on-a-piece (SoC) gas flowmeter designed as an analog front-end solution for the medical ventilator and ultrasonic gas flowmeter markets. The MAX35104ETL+ features a measurement accuracy of 700 ps and automatic differential Time of Flight (TOF), allowing simplified gas flow calculations. An early edge detection ensures measurement with consistent wave patterns, allowing improved accuracy and elimination of erroneous measurements.

     The built-in arithmetic logic unit provides TOF difference measurement and a programmable receiver hit accumulator to minimize host microprocessor access. For temperature measurements, the device supports a single 2-wire PT1000 platinum resistance temperature detector (RTD) or NTC thermistor. A simple 4-wire SPI interface allows any microcontroller to efficiently configure the device for its intended measurements.

     MAX35104EVKIT# is an evaluation kit that provides the hardware and graphical user interface (GUI) software needed to evaluate MAX35104ETL+. The EV kit includes the MAX35104ETL+ installed, as well as the USB-to-SPI interface needed to communicate with the IC. The USB-to-SPI master section of the EV suite, as well as the EV Suite software, provides a quick way to test the functionality of the device.
