Melexis announced the launch of its unique plug and play magnetic switch - MLX92362, which can effectively improve the assembly yield and reliability of liquid level measurement. The MLX92362 adopts isolated floating output, which can directly drive the load with power on. This product supports CMOS testing, reflow and non-contact operation to ensure barrier free assembly. In addition, this series of chips can be synchronized through the same 3-wire interface.
MLX92362 and MLX92361 are the patented floating switch chips of Melexis, which can conduct continuous liquid level detection based on Triaxis technology. Customers can fine tune the modules of this series of programmable switches and optimize them for specific applications. The MLX92361 of this series can be factory calibrated, and the MLX92362 can be calibrated at the final stage of the customer's production line.
This new Hall switch device can directly replace the reed switch without changing the implementation or adding additional wiring. Compared with reed switch, the overall dimension of Hall switch is reduced by up to 5 times. These solid state components do not contain moving parts, so they have higher reliability and longer working life. Users do not need to worry about mechanical wear, nor will they encounter the high failure rate that often occurs during module assembly of reed switches.
Both MLX92362 and MLX92361 adopt fully isolated output, which can directly drive the load. The switching current is up to 100mA. The voltage range of Melexis switches is 4.5 - 28V, which is widely applicable to a variety of power rails. Multiple sensor chips can be connected in a single module and synchronized through the built-in daisy chain function.
MLX92362 and MLX92361 both adopt 6-pin TSOT package, and their surface mount process can simplify the assembly process through reflow soldering. The operating temperature range of the switch is - 40 ℃ to 150 ℃.
