Melexis introduces high-precision current sensors optimized for affordable electric vehicles

Melexis announces the MLX 91211 Hall Effect current sensor IC. The product is available in two versions with different features and performance options to meet the needs of cost-sensitive applications. Such applications include belt driven starter generators, traction inverters for low-speed vehicles and electric scooters, as well as industrial applications such as electric forklifts and pallet trucks.

     Melexis announces the MLX 91211 Hall Effect current sensor IC. The product is available in two versions with different features and performance options to meet the needs of cost-sensitive applications. Such applications include belt driven starter generators, traction inverters for low-speed vehicles and electric scooters, as well as industrial applications such as electric forklifts and pallet trucks.

 

     This non-invasive sensor IC combines with a ferromagnetic core to generate an analog output proportional to the current in the cable or current bus. The output signal bandwidth is 40kHz, and the sensor IC has a step response time of less than 10µs.

 

     The MLX 91211 LUA-ABT is factory calibrated at three temperature points for higher accuracy for more demanding motor control use cases. The lowest priced version, the MLX 91211 LUA-ABA, is suitable for applications with lower bandwidth and accuracy requirements.
