Melexis introduced a high-power single chip LIN pre driver MLX81346 with a maximum of 2000W. MLX81346 realizes miniaturization of motor control and efficient quiet drive through field oriented control (FOC). The device is not only suitable for automotive electromechanical integration applications such as oil pumps, engine cooling fans and BLDC positioning actuators, but also for robot systems and electric bicycles/electric scooters.
The MLX81346 can not only support the operation with power up to 1000W through 12V power supply, but also use 48V power supply to provide power up to 2000W. Its high-voltage capability comes from its dependence on silicon on insulator (SOI) technology. With the release of MLX81346, it marks that Melexis has been ahead of other competitors and successfully introduced the 48V pre drive of the fully integrated system on chip (SoC) to the market.
The MLX81346 takes up very little circuit board space and provides 32 pin QFN (5mm x 5mm) or 48 pin TQFP48 (7mm x 7mm) packages. This compact pre drive was developed as a SEooC (Independent Security Unit) with ASIL B functionality. The supported operating temperature range is - 40 ℃ to 150 ℃. All basic circuit protection functions are also included. The MLX81346 is equipped with a 16 bit embedded microcontroller unit (MCU), a 64KB flash memory, a LIN software protocol stack and a LIN interface (for connecting the vehicle networking infrastructure). It has 12 GPIOs, including 3 high voltage I/Os, 2 UARTs, SPIs, and I2C. With the support of the third party partners recommended by us, customers can realize rapid programming in the final stage of the production line through LIN pins.
