Microchip's 75 V/5 A DC/DC switching step-down regulator has a unique adaptive on-time control architecture

     Microchip Technology's MIC28515 is an adjustable frequency synchronous step-down regulator with a unique adaptive on-time control architecture. The MIC28515 operates in the 4.5V to 75V input power range and offers voltage stabilized output up to 5 a. Output voltage can be adjusted to 0.6V, accuracy ±1%.

    The MIC28515 provides a "mode" selection pin that allows the user to choose between ultra-light load and ultra-speed control operations. The Ultra High Speed control proprietary architecture allows for an ultra-fast transient response while reducing output capacitance. It also provides a complete set of protection features to ensure safe operation of equipment under failure conditions.

     These include UVLO, external soft start to reduce current inrush, belch current limit short-circuit protection, and hot shutdown. The MCP28515 uses a 38-pin 6 mm x 6 mm PQFN with a junction operating range of -40°C to +125°C, making it ideal for distributed power systems, solar energy, network infrastructure, and industrial power applications.
