Micson Semiconductor unveils new AMR geomagnetic sensor

     Micron Semiconductor announced the new AMR geomagnetic sensor MMC5616WA, a new upgrade of Micron's large-scale production of ultra-small size AMR geomagnetic sensor MMC56x3 series, to meet the rich application scenarios including smart phones, wearable devices, drones, AR/VR.

     As the navigation function of portable devices such as smart phones is used more frequently, users have higher requirements on the power consumption of devices. In order to meet the increasingly demanding performance and power consumption requirements, Micron MMC5616WA adhering to the AMR sensor unique high precision, low noise, low temperature and other excellent performance at the same time, add 16 groups of FIFO data cache, conducive to a large number of application scenarios to reduce the MCU wake up frequency, compared to the current market mainstream products, System power consumption can be reduced by 15-30 times.

     The MMC5616WA adds support for the I3C's high-speed communication interface, communication rates up to 12.5MHz, and is downward compatible with the I2C interface. It also supports a voltage as low as 1.2V I/O interface, meeting the latest trend of I/O voltage on various mainstream platforms. The MMC5616WA supports a data sampling rate of up to 2,000Hz, which is suitable not only for smart phones, smart bands and watches, but also for drones and AR/VR applications that pursue high sampling rates.
