Miniature low profile power inductors from TT Electronics

     TT Electronics introduces the HA74 series of surface mount power inductors, which feature a low profile, small footprint, and a switching capability of 3MHz for the production of efficient, space-saving DC/DC converters. The HA74 series is AEC-Q200 certified and operates in the temperature range -55°C to +155°C, making it ideal for automotive use cases, including the latest generation of high-density converters and Pi filters for ADAS controllers (Advanced Driver assistance systems).

     This shielded inductor ensures low electromagnetic interference and high corrosion resistance. With a maximum height of just 2.05 mm, this series of inductors allows designers to create ultra-thin modules for certain application scenarios where height is a key parameter. The HA74 series has a compact design and occupies only 5.5 mm x 5.5 mm. The maximum rated current is 2.9A and the DC resistance is reduced to 74 Mω, thus enabling high power density and energy efficiency. With a compact design and switching capacity of up to 3MHz, the series is suitable for high-frequency converter designs and is ideal for sharing with small high-frequency filter capacitors to minimize module size and weight.

     The TT uses an advanced low-loss metal alloy core composition to ensure efficient, low-temperature operation of the inductor at higher frequencies. The HA74 series consists of 10 sections with standard inductance values ranging from 4.7µH to 33µH and current ratings ranging from 1.2A to 2.9A. TT can also supply semi-custom inductors according to customer specifications to meet the requirements of special orders.
