Molex, a global electronics industry leader and connectivity innovator, announced the launch of the NearStack PCIe Connector system and cable assembly for the next generation of servers. Developed in partnership with members of the Open Source Computing Project (OCP), NearStack PCIe replaces the traditional plug-in cable solution to optimize signal integrity and improve system performance

Molex announced the launch of the NearStack PCIe Connector system and cable assembly for next-generation servers. Developed in partnership with members of the Open Source Computing Project (OCP), NearStack PCIe replaces the traditional plug-in cable solution to optimize signal integrity and improve system performance.

One of the outstanding features of NearStack PCIe is the direct contact shielded double conductor terminal, which eliminates the need to use a plug-in card in the cable assembly. Unlike competitive product cable jumpers that are terminated by manually welding cables to PCB pad cards, NearStack uses a fully automated cable termination process. This high-precision process improves manufacturing efficiency, repeatability and signal integrity.

Bill Wilson, the new product development manager of Molex enterprise solutions, said: "Thanks to its superior structure, NearStack PCIe is an ideal choice for the development of the next generation PCIe Gen5 and Gen6 systems. The product can achieve a 32 Gbps NRZ data rate, enabling server OEMs to achieve unprecedented performance."
