Molex's EconoLatch wire-to-wire interconnection allows fast switching of wired terminals

     Molex's EconoLatch connector supports up to 9.0A current per circuit for fast switching of wired terminals for interruption-free operation for consumer, automotive and industrial applications. When designing their wire-to-wire power applications, customers are looking for an inexpensive interconnection solution with the ability to easily swap male or female terminals for fast, interference-free operation.

     The EconoLatch connector saves economic resources and time by allowing customers to swap round (male or female) terminals on the connector housing to speed up assembly operations without interruption. They are available in 16 AWG to 18 AWG and 20 AWG to 22 AWG; 1 - 10-circuits; The spacing is 3.68 mm.

     When configuring multiple polarized housings with the same circuit size in a single harness assembly, engineers run the risk of mismatching receptor-to-plug components. This can be avoided if crimp terminals can be swapped between crimp enclosures of different genders. EconoLatch Connector housing accepts male and female terminals for maximum design flexibility and point-and-shoot fit. This design feature is particularly useful when similar or identical circuit connections are configured in a single harness without the fear or risk of gender-specific part mismatches.

     Customers face the challenge of compromised electrical performance when using crimped terminals with a surface contact design (which provides limited contact drying) and a single locking spray gun (which results in weak interlocking with the housing). Some crimp terminals neither have centering characteristics nor support up to 9.0 A current.

     The EconoLatch crimping terminal uses multi-contacts and a dual locking gun to eliminate poor contact wipes and unsafe locking. Supporting up to 9.0A per terminal, the EconoLatch connector enables precise terminal alignment to the crimp housing for maximum electrical contact integrity and reliability.
