     In wireless devices that use cellular networks, antennas are critical to overall performance. However, designing antennas for wireless devices is complicated and time-consuming. Typically, manufacturers start design work with the functional modules of the device and then spend a lot of time designing the antenna or allocate resources to find suppliers to build the right antenna for their final product. Molex offers an out-of-the-box external 5G/LTE cellular antenna with SMA connectors in a multi-band configuration, providing insertion capabilities.

 

     Meeting the design requirements for high radiation efficiency in a small size is a challenge. All LTE/5G external antenna families offer high radiation efficiency and peak gain in a compact size. Connected wireless devices in home and commercial vehicles can be subject to shock and vibration, so sturdy and reliable antennas are needed.

 

     Molex's rugged external 5G/LTE antenna delivers highly reliable performance in critical operating environments with long service life. The hinge joint can be rotated 90° in the vertical plane, while the SMA-J connector can be rotated 360° in the horizontal plane while providing excellent directional coverage. The system provides high gain and efficiency in all major cellular bands.
