Monolithic power System (MPS) MP8030 802.3af/at/bt PoE PD power converter integrates high efficiency flyback/forward controller. The PD interface of the device provides all the functions of IEEE 802.3af/at/bt. The MPS MP8030 power converter integrates a 100V hot-swappable MOSFET(for ≤51W applications) and a GATE1 driver to improve high power applications (> 51W) efficiency.
The GATE2 driver provides an external low-on-resistance n-channel MOSFET to prevent high power losses when the adapter powers the MP8030. Flyback/forward controllers are designed for primary side regulation (PSR) flyback applications and secondary side regulation (SSR) active clamp forward applications. The device can also be used in SSR flyback topology.
The MP8030 offers overload protection (OLP) with burp mode, short circuit protection (SCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), and hot shutdown. The MP8030 is packaged in a QFN-32 (5mm x 6mm) package.
