NXP Semiconductors releases new MCUXpresso toolset

     NXP Semiconductor has released the new MCUXpresso toolset, a wealth of tools and resources that give developers greater scalability, availability and portability to develop complex embedded applications more easily and quickly. The new MCUXpresso toolset adds new IDE products to the existing features, These include the MCUXpresso IDE customized for Microsoft's Visual Studio Code (VS Code), an Open source hardware abstraction layer that enables code reuse, and streamlined partner code delivery using Open-Cmsis-packs, And a new Application Launch Pad that gives developers easy and interactive access to NXP applications and documentation.

The new MCUXpresso toolset includes a wealth of tools and resources that give developers greater flexibility to easily speed up software development and take control of the entire development process.      The new MCUXpresso toolset includes the new MCUXpresso for VS Code for quick response source code editing. The new IDE offers additional build system options for added flexibility, including systems favored by open source projects such as Zephyr and Matter, while the new toolset retains support for the traditional MCUXpresso SDK for developers to choose from. In addition, developers can continue to use existing IDE options, such as the MCUXpresso IDE, IAR Embedded Workbench, and Arm® Keil® development tools.

     In addition, the new MCUXpresso toolset provides a comprehensive one-stop shop for embedded ecosystem integration. The toolset will provide a hardware abstraction layer (HAL) to simplify code reuse and portability across NXP's broad portfolio of microcontrollers. With Open-CMSIS-Pack support for all ides in the MCUXpresso ecosystem to help simplify code delivery, ecosystem partners can help customers significantly simplify product evaluation and integration processes, while developers can easily browse the off-the-shelf software collection. In addition, the new Application Launch platform is a central repository of application design resources, including a wealth of application packages, application notes, and application code samples, and developers can browse the available software through an intuitive portal.
