
NXP said its Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combination and i.MX-RT MCU crossover processors are now supported in its MCUXpresso software, greatly simplifying product development. As a result, NXP will be able to expand the connectivity capabilities of its EdgeVerse edge computing and security platform.
By pre-integrating driver support in the MCUXpresso SDK, NXP will provide developers with a flexible and scalable platform to help accelerate product development certification cycles, significantly reduce time to market, and simplify Wi-Fi or combined Wi-Fi/Bluetooth deployments.
These new platforms make it possible to mix and match the right MCUS with the right Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combination devices, giving developers the flexibility they need to meet the performance and power requirements of their iot, industrial, automotive and communications infrastructure applications.

NXP has pre-integrated Wi-Fi/Bluetooth drivers and a communications stack around FreeRTOS, combined with the i.MX-RT crossover processor. By using the MCUXpresso SDK, developers can combine wireless connectivity with AI/ machine learning capabilities, display controllers, and graphics accelerators integrated into the i.MX RT family.
NXP also works with a number of module vendors, including Azurewave, Murata, Panasonic and u-blox, to provide developers with fully certified platform integration modules. With more partners, NXP gives developers more flexibility to choose the best modules for their applications and reduce design complexity, development costs and certification time.
