NXP announces mass production of S32R41 high performance radar processor

     Radar Microprocessor Unit (MPU)S32R41 is designed for 77GHz advanced radar applications. The architecture uses Arm®Cortex®-A53 and Cortex-M7 cores, combined with dedicated radar processing accelerators, to create an excellent radar processing chain. Designed for automotive, industrial and consumer radar applications, it is the core component in the manufacture of high-resolution angular radars and long-range forward radars that support L2+ autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) solutions.

     The S32R41 family has a comprehensive feature set to meet the diverse needs of advanced high-resolution angular radar and front radar applications. High performance processing combined with dual MIPI CSI interface and 8MB local SRAM enables high resolution radar system suitable for L2 autonomous driving applications and other applications. The architecture of the S32R41 is part of NXP's expandable radar portfolio. This enables scalable software reuse and reduces development complexity

     CubTEK, an ADAS holistic solutions specialist, will build a new high-end radar sensor system based on NXP's S32R41 processor and TEF82xx RFCMOS transceiver. The technology will be used in the sophisticated Blind spot Information System (BSIS) of the new generation of commercial vehicles to help drivers avoid vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists and improve road safety. With NXP's scalable radar platform containing a highly integrated processor and radar single chip with a high degree of architecture compatibility and software reuse, CubTEK can continue to use the results achieved in 4D imaging radars based on the NXP S32R45.
