NXP receives Automotive Connectivity Alliance Certification to accelerate digital car key development

     NXP Semiconductors announced that its single-chip NFC and embedded security component solution, the SN220, has been certified by the Automotive Connectivity Alliance  (CCC) for digital keys launched in December 2023. This marks NXP as the first digital car key solution provider to receive this certification. NXP offers a complete suite of solutions covering the complete digital car key ecosystem, including ultra-wideband (UWB), NFC chips and Bluetooth Low Energy, for the application needs of mobile device manufacturers and automotive manufacturers.

     Digital car keys do more than just allow drivers to use their cars seamlessly and safely. The driver can also control the use of the car by family  members, substitute drivers and other people through the digital key. As this feature grows in popularity, its interoperability and security become key. CCC has more than 200 members, including leading automotive manufacturers, smart device manufacturers and technology companies. The association recently launched a certification program that complies with the CCC digital key specification, aiming to achieve seamless interoperability and security across the entire ecosystem of cars, mobile phones and other hands-free car access devices.
