JAI introduces a new prismatic industrial linear scanning camera SW-4010Q-MCL. This model uses four-sensor linear scanning technology, which can collect red, green and blue channel image data through three independent CMOS sensors, while collecting image data from short-wave infrared (SWIR) band through a fourth InGaAs sensor.

     JAI has announced the launch of a new prismatic industrial linear scanning camera, the SW-4010Q-MCL. This model uses four-sensor linear scanning technology, which can collect red, green and blue channel image data through three independent CMOS sensors, while collecting image data from short-wave infrared (SWIR) band through a fourth InGaAs sensor. With the addition of the SW-4010Q-MCL, JAI's existing Sweep+ series of 3-CMOS R-G-B and 4-CMOS R-G-B-Nir linear sweep camera products extend multispectral imaging to shortwave infrared bands and further expand its applications.

 

     The camera uses Xscale, JAI's unique pixel scaling feature, which makes it easy to reconfigure the camera by setting all four sensors to use the same field of view (25.6 mm line width) and the same line frequency (39 KHZ), and automatically adjusting the visible light channel to 2048 pixels (12.5 micron pixels) or 1024 pixels (25 micron pixels). Other features include individual gain and shutter control for each channel, dual-stream data output (RGB and short-wave infrared use different data streams), trigger and encoder controls, and noise reduction filters.

     The SW-4010Q-MCL camera has built-in color conversion capability to output images in HSI or CIE XYZ color format if required. It also provides conversion from standard RGB to sRGB or Adobe RGB color gamut, and even supports user-defined RGB conversion parameters. JAI also offers a special lens (purchased separately) that is optimized for focusing visible and short-wave infrared light. The Camera comes with dual Mini Camera Link ports and M52 lens ports.

 

     The integrity and appearance of the product, as well as the internal quality of the product, are the key factors in consumers' purchasing decisions and consumption experience. SW-4010Q-MCL can simultaneously complete visible light and short-wave infrared detection, enabling the production line to install a camera at a single monitoring point to complete the internal quality and appearance detection of products, reducing the complexity and cost of hardware installation, while achieving high quality consumer satisfaction.

 

     In order to ensure the quality of the output image, the machine vision system usually needs to use visible light and short-wave infrared imaging functions. The SW-4010Q-MCL camera can output both visible and short-wave infrared images in a single detection. The industrial camera is equipped with both CMOS and InGaAs image sensors, using three CMOS sensors to collect visible light data (400-700 nm) for advanced color detection imaging, and a fourth InGaAs sensor to collect data from 800-1700 nm spectrum.

 

     A typical application area of SW-4010Q-MCL is the food and beverage production line. With the development of China's economy and the improvement of people's living standards, the demand for food safety and high-quality products is growing rapidly. An advantage of SWIR imaging is the ability to noninvasibly monitor the product to be tested, which can save samples while making the test more efficient, which is very important in the food and beverage industry. SWIR imaging can be used to examine the quality of products inside labels and packaging. It can detect invisible components such as mold, yeast, bacteria and other contaminants in food. It can also be used to determine the moisture content of food to ensure food quality and safety.
