New ultra-thin baseboard cooling type 160W AC-DC power supply scheme

     XP Power has announced a new ultra-thin baseboard cooling 160W AC-DC power solution. The new product is intended for semiconductor manufacturing and industrial technology applications, including test and measurement, plant automation and process control, with a focus on cooling, air pollution and integration issues. As a complete solution, the ASB160 series offers built-in protection mechanisms, including overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature. Higher levels of reliability and ease of integration are ensured through effective heat dissipation from the bottom plate.

     This compact product features an all-brick base cooling module and measures only 2.40 "x 4.60" x 0.78 ". This, together with an efficiency level of up to 93%, achieves the highest power density level currently available for this type of product. As such, this rugged unit is suitable for sealed enclosures, including ATEx-certified units, as baseboard cooling eliminates any need for forced air/fan cooling.

     The new ASB160 series is a compact, complete AC-DC power supply that includes an EMC filter, AC fuses, and mass storage capacitors, enabling it to be mounted directly onto the PCB board to operate in the substrate temperature range from -40°C to +90°C. The ASB160 series is available worldwide with a universal input voltage range of 90 to 264VAC. The series offers a total of six single DC output voltages of 12, 15, 24, 36, 48 and 54VDC.
