Nexperia introduces a series of constant current LED drivers that can drive current up to 250mA

     Nexperia announced the launch of its family of constant current LED drivers, which adds eight new AEC-Q101-compliant devices that drive low - and medium-power leds with currents up to 250mA. The 16V NCR32xx and 40V NCR42xx series are available in two package forms: the space-saving SOT457 (SC-74) and SOT223 (SC-73); The latter offers higher power capacity, up to 1,250mW.

     The new LED driver has a precise, stable output current (10mA) without external resistance; If an external resistor is used, the output current can be adjusted to 250mA. The voltage overhead is very low at 1.4V. For higher durable strength, the junction temperature tolerance of the drive is subject to 150°C. These new LED drivers serve Nexperia's key automotive market and will add to its already extensive AEC-Q101 qualified parts portfolio.

     Joachim Stange, Nexperia's bipolar Transistor product manager, said: "Our growing LED driver portfolio meets the rapidly growing LED market demand in automotive, white goods and consumer applications. The new NCR32x and NCR42x series can be connected in parallel, making them ideal for constant current power supplies and automotive applications, including interior and exterior lighting such as door handles, dashboards, license plates, indicators and taillights."
