Nordic's nRF9160 SiP makes it easier to use low-power cellular technology for a variety of applications, and it also brings a lot of convenience to developers. It has the full set of qualifications needed to take advantage of cellular technology by solving complex wireless design challenges and achieving a high degree of integration and pre-certification for global operations.
NRF9160 provides a compact solution for the cellular Internet of Things (cIoT) by integrating an application processor, complete LTE-M/NB-IoT modem, RF front end and integrated power management in a 10 mm x 16 mm x 1 mm package. It includes a model with built-in GPS support aimed at the asset tracking application market. Location acquisition becomes more efficient with support for cellular tower and GPS based location services in addition to regular GNSS satellite trilateral measurements.
NRF9160 SiP features a globally compatible LTE modem, Support for US (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B17, B25, B5, B8, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B26 and B28) and EU/Asia-Pacific (B1, B3, B4, B4, B5, B8, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26 and B28) frequency bands.
The nRF9160 SiP features an integrated Arm® Cortex®-M33 application processor and uses Arm TrustZone® and Arm CryptoCell 310 security technologies. It includes a wide range of digital and analog interfaces, as well as peripherals for single-device design possibilities, and it can also be used as a serial LTE modem. Provide the necessary modem firmware, real-time operating system (RTOS), application software samples, and hardware reference designs to achieve a complete cellular iot design
